General

  • There are 750 Elementary Schools and 172 Middle Schools totally  922 schools functioning in Namakkal  District.
  • The Hon`ble Chief Minister has announced to provide educational kits consisting of school bags, geometry box, crayons/colour pencils and atlas to enable learning process meaningful easy and child friendly. Besides, the Hon`ble Chief Minister has announced 4 sets of uniforms to school students, bus passes, textbooks for students in 1 to 8th standard, notebooks and pair of footwear to students in 1 to 8th standard
  • Rs.50,000/75,000 – to students studying in 1 to 8th standard who lost their breadwinning parents. by depositing a Bond in Tamil Nadu power finance corporation. Interest amount paid once in a year to the Students. On completing 21 years of age cheque will be issued to the students.
  • Rs.1,00,000/- to students studying in 1 to 8th standard who lost their breadwinning Students. amount paid once By Cheque in Tamil Nadu power finance corporation.
  • To reduce drop out students at secondary level, the Hon`ble Chief Minister has announced Special cash incentive scheme

Initiatives taken for improvement of quality education and welfare of the students

  • At the primary level, students studying from 1st to 5th Standard through “ENNUM EZHUTHUM” Teaching and Learning method, and from 6th to 8th Standard, students are taught through the Skill-Based Learning System (ALM), to acquire complete basic reading, writing and mathematics skills developed with addition skill developed method for THIRAN. Furthermore, the skills and creativity of the students are being developed with the TNSPARK Computer-Based Learning High-Tech Laboratory facility.
  • For 3rd to 5th Standard SC/ST Girls Student stipend is given Rs. 500/- each, 6th standard Rs. 1000/- and 7th and 8th Standard Rs. 1500/- also
  • And for 3rd to 5th Standard MBC Girls Student stipend is given Rs. 500/- and 6th standard MBC Girls Rs. 1000/- given as stipend.
  • In Elementary Education for infrastructure development build Additional Class Room, Toilets for Boys and Girls separately and supply of water and drinking water facilities.

Right to Information Act (RTI)-2005

1. Designated Officers

In each District Education Office (DEO – Elementary), there are designated officers to provide information:

  • Public Information Officer (PIO): Generally, this position is held by the Personal Assistant to the District Education Office (PA to DEO) or the Office Superintendent.
  • Appellate Authority: The concerned District Education Officer (Primary Education) will act as the first Appellate Authority.

2. How to Apply

  • Application: The application must be made in the prescribed form.
  • Fee: You have to pay ₹10 as application fee.
  • This can be paid through Court Fee Stamp, Cash (pay at the office and get a receipt), or Bank Draft (Demand Draft).
  • There is no application fee for people below the poverty line (BPL).

3. Time Limit

  • Information must be provided within 30 days of receipt of the application.
  • If the information concerns the life or liberty of an individual, it must be provided within 48 hours.

4. Appeal

  • Application: The application must be made in the prescribed form.
  • First Appeal: If the information is not received within 30 days or the information received is not satisfactory, an application can be made to the District Education Officer (Appeal Officer) within the next 30 days.
