Namakkal District focuses on providing quality education, student welfare,
infrastructure development, and skill-based learning to ensure holistic growth
among students.
General Information
- There are a total of 922 schools functioning in Namakkal District.

- 172 Middle Schools
The Hon’ble Chief Minister has announced educational kits consisting of school bags,
geometry boxes, crayons/colour pencils, and atlas books to make the learning process
easy and child-friendly.
The Government also provides:
- Four sets of uniforms
- Free bus passes
- Textbooks for Classes 1 to 8
- Notebooks
- Footwear for students
Student Welfare Schemes
- Financial assistance of Rs.50,000 / Rs.75,000 is provided to students studying
from Classes 1 to 8 who lost their breadwinning parent. - Financial assistance of Rs.1,00,000 is provided to students who lost both parents.
- Special Cash Incentive Scheme introduced to reduce dropout rates.
Initiatives for Quality Education
- “Ennum Ezhuthum” programme for Classes 1 to 5 to improve reading, writing,
and arithmetic skills. - Activity Based Learning Method (ALM) and Skill-Based Learning for Classes 6 to 8.
- THIRAN skill development programme for students.
- TNSPARK Computer-Based Learning High-Tech Laboratories.
